Everything You Need to Know About Laser Hair Removal.

Your complete guide to safe, effective, and virtually pain-free laser hair removal.

What is Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal is a medical procedure that uses a concentrated beam of light to remove unwanted hair. The laser emits light that is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair, which is converted to heat and damages the hair follicles — inhibiting or delaying future hair growth.

The Alma Soprano ICE Advantage

At The Aesthetics Room, we use the Alma Soprano ICE diode laser — widely regarded as one of the most advanced and comfortable laser hair removal systems available. Unlike older laser technologies, the Soprano ICE uses a unique gradual heating method that progressively raises hair follicle temperatures without high-energy peaks, making treatments virtually pain-free.

What to Expect: Before, During & After

Before: Avoid sun exposure for at least two weeks prior to treatment. Shave the area 24 hours before your appointment — do not wax or pluck, as the hair root must be present. Arrive with clean, product-free skin.

During: Most clients describe the sensation as a warm, gentle massage. Sessions typically take 15–60 minutes depending on the area treated.

After: Some redness or slight swelling is normal and typically subsides within a few hours. Avoid sun exposure and heat (saunas, hot showers) for 24–48 hours. Apply SPF 30+ to treated areas when outdoors.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

Hair grows in cycles, and the laser is most effective on hairs in the active growth phase. Because not all hairs are in the same phase at the same time, multiple sessions are required — typically 8 to 12 treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. After completing a course of treatment, most clients experience a significant and long-lasting reduction in hair growth. Occasional maintenance sessions are recommended to sustain the best possible results over time.
